Today, the kids were up early and wanted to go outside early on, so I took advantage of the opportunity and stained the other half of the boards which took another 3+ hours. A bit longer, actually, as the pieces I was staining were all longer than the ones that I stained the previous day. Now all the boards are stained. I also took the kids for a car nap. When we got back, I attempted to start assembling the bench (the stain from the previous day had dried), but quickly found out that although I’d charged the batteries for the power drill, the batteries were all toast. So I ended up having to go out to get a battery – but since we got the tool set, the battery standard for those tools has changed to Li-Ion, instead of Ni-Cd, which also requires a new charger. So I got a replacement battery and charger. By the time the battery was charged, it was too late to assemble the bench.
