Got a lot done today. Washed, Dried, and Put Away 4 loads of laundry. Filled the dishwasher, ran it, and emptied it again. Took the kids to the park. Worked with my father-in-law to remove about 1/2 of a bush that had overgrown the front of the house. The other half will come down in about two weeks after the town picks up the branches from the first bush. Took the kids on a car nap. Took the kids grocery shopping. Spent a lot of time working on cleaning the bedroom.
On the house cleaning front, when last I mentioned it, the closet in my bedroom was the only 100% clean space in the house. That’s still true, but I’m making dramatic progress on the bedroom itself. My dresser has long been a dumping ground for random stuff. I managed to get that cleaned off, plus thoroughly dust the dresser itself on all sides, and my nightstand as well. I also moved both of those items and vacuumed under them and around them. I still have a lot to do before the bedroom is fully clean, but there’s a lot more walking space and it just feels better.
One of the things that I’m trying to change is to make it so there is nothing of the kids stuff in the room. A thing that seems to have happened is that their stuff is EVERYWHERE in the house. The fact is, they live in the house. But that doesn’t mean their stuff has to be everywhere. So I’m working on trying to get that cleared up. That’s been the biggest problem in our bedroom – random stuff on the floor. Makes vacuuming impossible without moving the stuff. So that’s what I’m working on there.
Regarding weight loss progress, I’m down 1.3 pounds from last week, and down 26.9 pounds overall. That means I’ve lost an average of 1.68 pounds a week. Progress overall slowed down recently – I was maintaining a 2 lbs a week rate. But I’ve fixed some of the things I was doing wrong and last week was a pretty good week. I’m hoping this week continues to do so. A new feature this week – here’s a graph of my weight loss since I started…
A few notes – anywhere I don’t have data (especially the cruise) I just treat the weight for each day as the same as the previous day – so that big flat line in the middle of July is the cruise. Beyond that, you can pretty easily see a downward trend, until we get to September, and then I just bounce around in the same range more or less. Seeing it visually helps to see there’s a problem there. I’ve already adjusted for what I was doing wrong, but there we are. I do feel good about the graph, that’s for sure. It shows progress, and that’s all I ask – I’m not trying to build Rome in a day here. It’s not realistic to expect to wake up 100 lbs lighter tomorrow.
