A long day running on not much sleep. My grandmother’s roommate has been taking care of her while she recovers from a broken hip, and unfortunately the roommate’s mother has also recently fallen very ill – and needed surgery yesterday. Since grandma isn’t safe to be home alone right now, while her hip heals, I needed to come over and keep an eye on her for the day. The timing was such that I had to get up at 4:45 AM, so I could be showered, dressed, and out the door by 5:30, so that I could be at my grandmother’s house by 6:15, so that Sherry could get to the hospital by 7:00, in preparation for an 8:00 surgery. So the timing wasn’t great.
In any case, I was able to do that, and then met Alice in Avon at the Joann’s so she could pick up some items she needed. I stayed in the car with Jasper, who was napping. Violet, as is frequently the case, either didn’t nap, or was already done napping and went inside with mom.
When we got home, I did as much of the bench assembly as I could, but quickly discovered that most of it requires a second person to hold the boards in place while they are screwed in. So it will require both me and Alice to accomplish.
Since last week, I’m down 5.8 pounds (woo!), and I’m down 26.9 pounds overall, pushing my average back over 2 pounds a week.
Oh, and today’s the day I cross the threshold of 1/4 of a year on this regime. If I can keep up this level of progress for a full year, I’ll be 293.4 pounds at the one year mark – which is less than I weighed when Alice and I met, and less than I’ve ever weighed in the years we’ve been together. I am also coming up on a major goal for me – which is getting back to 360, where I’ve been most of my adult life.
